Desert Tours From Marrakech
Day 1 : Marrakech-atlas mountains-Ouarzazate – Rose Valley
The journey will start earlier in Marrakech, after having breakfast in your riad, the driver will pick you up at 8 A.M and start the adventure of a lifetime exploring the beauty of Morocco. As we travel over the high atlas mountains through TiziN’Tichka path reaching an altitude of nearly 7500 feet above sea level. They say that life is about the journey and not about the destination and this is certainly true when you are in this road. There will be a plenty of stops to enjoy the moments and the views of mountains with Berber villages also have a cup of tea mint and take pictures to keep as moments for started journey; while we continue our way to Hollywood of Morocco where a lot of grat movies are made like The Gladiator, Road to heaven… The city called Ouarzazate. In your arrival you will take a lunch break to enjoy the Moroccan food tajins. After lunch, you will visit the former place of the glaoui clan, Kasbah Taourirt and if you wish a back lot tour to one of the film studios can also be arranger before continuing on to KelaatM’Gouna in the Valley of Roses where your own Kasbah for the night awaits.
Day 2 : Rose valley trekking and sightseeing:
Following the breakfast, you will be meeting with your local guide who will walk with you to explore berber village and experience a nomadic life. you will have a lunch with a local berber family. You will visit Hadida, Aifer, Tourbist and Boutaghrar villages. You continue your journey to the fascinating valley of the Roses and its fabulous rose Plantations, a leisurely stroll through organic garden and around exploring old kasbahs. Back to you hotel in the evening where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga:
Wake early and after a leisurely breakfast, we head to another spectacular gorge Todra (the highest oasis in Morocco). The gorge is cut into the ochre-colored cliffs of the High Atlas. Its walls are 300 meters high and at their most narrow part are 20 meters apart.Then we depart Todra Gorge for Merzouga the doorway into the desert. We might drive to the lake with Flamingos near Merzouga. You will have the opportunity to see the the nomad’s way of life and the amazing changing contrasts of the desert. Your guide and camels will be waiting for you to carry you across the sandy dunes as the sun set across the desert landscape, for approximately 1 to 2 hours to reach you desert camp for the night. Your guide will prepare for you refreshing mint tea and dinner of tagine. Romantic night full of stars with berber music. Overnight in a Nomad Tent, dinner & breakfast.
Day 4: Merzouga – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifran – Fes:
You will wake early and climb the sand dunes to watch the beautiful sunrise. Then, pack-up the camels and trek back to duneline, where you shower and have breakfast at the hotel. Leaving the desert behind and make your way to Fes along the scenic Ziz Valley Gorge, via Azrou and the cedar forests where colony of monkeys will keep you amused. From here we start climbing the route to the Middle Atlas with a lunch stop on the way. As we start approaching Fez, we start seeing the cedar forested hilsides around Azrou. We pass Ifrane the town sometimes refer to “Swiss” village known for skiing in Africa. Drop you off at your Riad / Hotel at around 6:00PM.
