India, a country of diverse culture, rich heritage, and unbreakable unity. India has introduced to the whole world- the largest democracy. Indian values and virtues are on par with others. India has established its own identity and prominence.

India has successfully achieved global dominance with its ordinary household principals, but most effective ones. Indian soil breeds many eminent personalities in every field who have proved to the world Indian competency and efficiency. India is a huge country in terms of its population, area, and democracy.

GOI initiates Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat to make India self-dependent in all sectors, like education, commerce, etc. GOI has also changed the education policy to make education better. And boarding schools in Dehradun have also revamped the academic curriculum accordingly.

India as a whole is widespread right from the Himalayas in the up north to the Vattakottai Fort down south and hugely spread laterally as well. A country where thousands of languages are spoken, a place where after every five miles a new culture prevails, a nation where the largest democracy resides in every heart. The commonality between every Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai is the glory and pride of being an Indian.

To encourage and celebrate this emotion, an online portal and scheme called “EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT'' were inaugurated by our honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji on 31 October in the year 2015. In honour of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ji, the online platform was created which is planned to have a wide scope and application. This online forum intends to exhibit the varied culture and traditional practices that are followed in every Indian household. The display of vivid and vibrant Indian heritage across all the states and union territories is facilitated on the portal. This forum serves as a platform to exhibit the unity and deep connection that every Indian share with each other despite the huge differences in the regional, traditional, cultural, and many other respects.

The online portal that the government has designed organizes various quizzes and contests that promote unity among the fellow Indians. In this scheme, one state will connect with other states to appreciate and encourage each other’s folk songs, local traditions, and specialities. In this way, the government will make sure that there is an exchange of traditional ideas, practices, and beliefs so that people come to know about many amazing facts about our own country.

People’s opinion matters the most, especially in a democratic framework like in India. Hence, to gather people's feedback regarding the launch of the online scheme, a contest was conducted to fulfil the same aim. Also, this portal is subject to many improvements and up-gradation to enhance its effectiveness and scops in the future.

On the portal, there were many questions asked that the masses can submit in the form of writing. The questions involved:

  • In what ways can the government participate in the implementation of the program?
  • How can people contribute to this online portal and make it a successful program?
  • People’s testimonials regarding the advantages of the online portal of this kind.
  • How can this portal enhance people's participation and make it a public domain initiative?

This portal will conduct many events for people to show their skills in understanding their roots and get connected. Moreover, many prizes will be provided for the winners.

PM announced the cash rewards for the winners that are as follows.

1st prize has a cash reward of ₹1 lakh, 2nd prize of ₹75 thousand, and ₹50 thousand for 3rd winner. Additionally, a certificate also will be provided.

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat also pays tribute to the ultimate iron man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who also aimed at uniting the country against the Britishers. Hence, on Rashtriya Ekta divas, the announcement of the online portal was initiated.

Truly an amazing scheme idea that the government has come up with to increase the creativity of the people and to decrease the cultural gap and distance among us Indians.
